Development-oriented Coaching on Perfectionism (DCP)

What is perfectionism?

The DCP method helps you to free yourself from your excessive perfectionism that can manifest itself in different ways:

  • You set unrealistically high goals and quality requirements.

  • You but yourself up whenyou don't achieve your lofty goals.

  • You always keep going - even when your body is screaming for rest.

  • You can't say "No" to requests from others.

  • You always want to control everything and everyone.

  • You postpone too many things for too long.

  • Fear of failure blocks you from that important presentation, conversation, exam, etc.

  • You worry and make yourself sad / stressed / crazy.

All these perfectionist patterns have to do with your self-image and are rooted in the unconscious. Nobody gets up in the morning and consciously thinks: now I'm going to let that perfectionism ruin my life for a while! Let me worry excessively, set unrealistically high goals, keep going no matter what, procrastinating endlessly, etc. It's more that triggers around you push you into those patterns. The goal is to let you control your perfectionism instead of the other way around.

DCP methodology

DCP works directly with your unconscious and aims to bring 2 parts of your person back into balance. First of all, there is the part that drives your perfectionism and gives direction to your life. It helps you to achieve goals and has often brought you a lot. Unfortunately, this part has become overworked and too dominant. As a result, another important part of you has been sent into exile. This is the part that gives you confidence and energy. It lets you be free and enjoy the moment.

With DCP we investigate these 2 parts and enter into a dialogue with them to let work together in harmony again. Once in balance, they will serve you optimally. You tame your perfectionism and take back control.

Dr Patrick Luyten from the University of Leuven researched DCP and found compelling evidence for the effectiveness of this approach . Test yourself for perfectionism here .

DCP Trajectory

Step 1: Free intake conversation

Every trajectory starts with a free online intake conversation that you can book here . In 30 minutes we look at what you want to work on and whether we match.

Step 2: Tailor-made proposal

After our click conversation, I will send you a proposal for a trajectory that suits your goal, availability, budget, etc. Experience shows that OCP trajectories consist on average of 6-10 conversations of 1 - 1.5 hours.  But sometimes we come across something along the way that makes us need more time.

A different frequency and duration of our conversations is of course possible - you are the boss. Together we ensure that you get maximum results from this investment in yourself. You can always adjust, stop or extend your route in between without extra costs. You're not tied to anything.

Step 3: Your journey begins

We speak regularly. To maximize the impact of your perfectionism coaching, you will receive 2 or 3 assignments from conversation that you can complete in 5 minutes every day. You can send me a number of messages via Whatsapp to ask questions, share things, etc.
